Flautist, vocalist, composer, bandleader, mountain leader, educator and founder of Creative Heights, Sylvie Rose presents her debut EP Sunshine Still Off. The Sylvie Rose Quintet features heavy grooves, flute-led, often song based contemporary jazz, which reflects and explores themes of adventure in the great outdoors, Brazilian cultural art, and the concept of ‘play’; through the eyes of a woman finding her way in this world.

Connecting nature and the arts through adventure in the outdoors, Creative Heights explores how the psychological and physiological benefits of adventuring in the outdoors enhances one's imagination and creativity.

Since 2019 Sylvie has been developing a research project looking into Identity, Space and Place within traditional Brazilian Musics and Art forms. The work explores common elements of interplay, connection and the 'playful' spirit of the music, as well as the social impact and understanding of self goes far beyond the music and movement making. This is in connection with the concept of Creative Heights. Both of theses subject areas are the material and essence of this project. The compositions take the listener and musicians on a journey to groove islands where there is intentional space for autonomy and interplay.
